Parizaad has had drama enthusiasts in a chokehold — fascinated by the main character and the plot and has infiltrated its way into every other household. The creators of the series realise that there's nothing like watching something on the big screen — which is why the show that has had you gripped is going to release its finale in cinemas on Jan 22, three days earlier than its TV release.

Nasar Khan, Hum Network's PR Manager, told Images "it's definitely confirmed — the last episode of Parizaad will be screened nationwide in cinemas, the release date for cinemas is Jan 22, Saturday and the TV on air date is Jan 25. The finale will come out in cinemas three days before it's aired on TV."

Directed by Shehzad Kashmiri, Parizaad is based on Hashim Nadeem's novel and the story revolves around a dark-skinned main character — played by the versatile Ahmed Ali Akbar — who has a pure heart and is gifted but constantly disregarded and treated poorly by people around him. The drama unfolds an interesting and unconventional story about the struggles of Parizaad as he navigates life.

The cast includes Nauman Ijaz, Syed Muhammad Ahmed, Urwa Hocane, Saboor Aly, Ushna Shah, Yumna Zaidi, Mashal Khan, Tipu Shah, Kiran Tabeer, Leyla Zuberi, Madiha Rizvi and Malik Hamid Raza.

The drama gained so much traction that it has crossed borders — Indian designer Manish Malhotra used the instrumental version of Parizaad's OST for his clothing campaign last November.

Overjoyed fans of both the drama and the designer were delighted and appreciated that the serial is not only reaching new heights in Pakistan but is also making its way across the border. Parizaad is one of very few serials that has been appreciated for its quality, actors and the importance given to Urdu literature.

Akbar's character Parizaad was also featured on a chips packet a few days back. Fans do love merch — perhaps Akbar could get on this as a side hustle.

We're excited to see what surprises the finale may bring — be it plot twists or more unofficial merch.

This masterpiece deserves to be shown in the theatre. I believe this drama can stand shoulder to shoulder with dramas like Hamsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai.
