Farhan Akhtar's women-led Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara may star Alia Bhatt
After the massive success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, sibling duo Farhan and Zoya Akhtar are now talking about the possibility of making an ‘on the road’ film with female protagonists and a draft has finally been locked down.
“While Farhan acted in ZNMD, this time around he will be directing this yet untitled film. Written by him and Zoya, though the concept of a road trip remains the same, the narrative is diametrically different from what they did in the 2011 film. They have locked on the broad idea of this story through the lockdown,” a source close to the development revealed to Pinkvilla.
The source added that Alia Bhatt might potentially be one of the leads.
“He has discussed a probable collaboration with Alia and she is definitely excited to come on board the film. More meetings will take place throughout the year, and everyone is optimistic on this association working out. Apart from Alia, two more A-list actresses will join the gang, however, they have yet to decide on the names,” the source revealed.
This new project will put Farhan back in the director's seat after 10 years. His last directorial project was Don 2.
He will next be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Toofan and is shooting for Rakesh Sharma's biopic Saare Jahan Se Acha.
