The teaser for Baarwan Khiladi, Mahira Khan's first venture into production, is out.

The web series, which is the first project by Mahira's production house Soul Fry Films, will be released via Tapmad TV, an OTT platform. It is also being produced by Nina Kashif.

The teaser doesn't give us much of an idea of the show itself but promises that it will be intense.

Mahira had earlier described it as "a coming of age story set against the backdrop of the OG of all games — cricket. A story about friendships, relationships, unity, failure, success, love and courage".

The show stars singer-actor Danyal Zafar, YouTuber Shahveer Jafry, content creator Khaqan Shahnawaz, Zarrar Khan, Meer Yousuf, Kinza Hashmi, Sarmad Khoosat, Mira Sethi and others.

Images had reached out to Hashmi earlier, who confirmed that she was the "only female with the mostly male-led cast" and that Zafar will play the lead character.

This is Mahira's first project as a producer but she has a lot of experience in being part of productions. She has starred in Raees, Superstar, Bin Roye and Humsafar, to name a few.

Baarwan Khiladi has been written by Shahid Dogar and directed by Adnan Sarwar, who was behind Motorcycle Girl and Shah.

Baarwan Khiladi is about a cricket team, the Shaheen IX.

A release date for the show hasn't been announced yet nor has the synopsis been released but people are still very excited.

With the inclusion of content creators and YouTubers, Baarwan Khiladi is expected to be different from the usual dramas in Pakistan.

The young stars from the web series have been sharing the official posters and behind the scenes shots from the set.

Baarwan Khiladi looks interesting and will, if nothing else, be a diversion from the usual content seen in series in Pakistan. Seeing content about more than domestic squabbles is great and hopefully the Pakistani entertainment industry will continue to grow and include a more diverse range of issues in its productions.
