Actress Mahira Khan has confirmed that she is the brand ambassador for Peshawar Zalmi for the PSL 6 but that has us wondering where this leaves Turkish actress Esra Bilgic.
Team owner Javed Afridi also confirmed the news with a tweet.
This isn’t Khan’s first time with Zalmi — she represented the team in PSL 3 and PSL 4. She also appeared in the music video for the team’s anthem in season four of the PSL. She's also one of the most bankable Pakistani actresses with a sponsorship deal with L'Oreal.
In the promotional picture released by Zalmi to announce Khan's ambassadorship she's wearing Zalmi colours — black pants and a black sweatshirt with yellow patterns on the front. She's also sitting on a yellow car.
"Glad to announced Mahira Khan as Peshawar Zalmi Ambassador for the third time, it's a hat trick of the winning partnership," said Afridi in a statement. "Mahira Khan is one of the biggest showbiz stars of Pakistan and we are thrilled to have her for PSL 6,. She was with Zalmi in seasons three and four too and I hope this will continue in the coming years."
But Afridi has been teasing PSL fans for weeks now by dropping hints of a collaboration with Bilgic, who starred in the massively popular Dirilis: Ertugrul.
She made headlines in Pakistan when she posted a picture of Islamia College Peshawar on her Instagram story and later posted a tweet identical to Afridi's. Both said "new beginnings".
Sources confirmed to Images that talks with Bilgic are still under way and a "final outcome is expected in a few days". We might hear news of multiple ambassadors for Zalmi, something that isn't unprecedented — in PSL 3 and PSL 4 Khan and fellow actor Hamza Ali Abbasi were both ambassadors and singer Gul Panra was the regional ambassador.
People want both actresses to be brand ambassadors.
And so do we! Seeing Bilgic and Khan team up would be amazing.
