Here's how Shahbaz Taseer received a signed jersey from Manchester United
Since his release, Shahbaz Taseer has experienced many things again; he got to hug his siblings, eat nihari (his favourite food), play with his dogs.
However, nothing could have prepared him for this:
He could barely contain his excitement:
He even tells us who his favourites are!
So how did Taseer get his hands on the much coveted signed jersey? The credit goes to Leena Ghani, who told them about him.
Now that's one awesome sister-in-law!
In his article, published in the New York Times in which he wrote candidly about his ordeal, he spoke about how his love for football kept him going.
"One of my guards, like myself, was a Manchester United fan, and every other week he would sneak a radio into my cell and we would listen to soccer games. For him, this was an illicit pleasure. He believed that playing or even listening to soccer was a sin."
Shahbaz was abducted from Lahore in 2011, just months after his father was shot for opposing the country’s controversial blasphemy laws.
He was picked up by security forces in Balochistan on March 8, though the circumstances of his release remain murky.

"For me, it was a window to the outside world. Getting soccer news kept me sane. 'You must surely be the only United fan in this position,' I would tell myself. 'They are playing and winning for you.'"
If that isn't devotion, we don't know what is!
