The first poster of Humayun Saeed's London Nahi Jaunga is finally out
As Eidul Azha nears, Pakistani films and stars are gearing up to take over our theatre screens very soon. Mahira Khan and Fahad Mustafa's Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad just got a trailer and Humayun Saeed just released a poster for his film London Nahi Jaunga.
On Thursday the actor took to Instagram and shared the first poster of the film with his followers.
The poster garnered likes and comments from various celebrities including designer HSY, who wrote that he "can't wait" to see the film. Filmmaker Mehreen Jabbar also commented congratulating Saeed and Nadeem Baig. Actors Ayesha Omar and Saba Faisal also congratulated him.
The film stars Mehwish Hayat, Vasay Chaudhry, Gohar Rasheed, Kubra Khan, Saba Faisal, Asif Raza Mir and Salman Shahid. Saba Hameed and Sohail Ahmed of Punjab Nahi Jaungi will also be seen in the film.
London Nahi Jaunga has been written by Khalilur Rehman Qamar and directed by Nadeem Baig. Both Baig and Saeed also worked behind the camera as producer and director for drama Sinf-e-Aahan. Filming began two years ago and the film was set for release in 2020 but unfortunately got postponed due to Covid.
According to American theatre chain AMC Theatres, London Nahi Jaunga is a story about a woman named Sara who has always been full of life on the surface but has always felt that there's something out there that's missing from her life up until she stumbles upon her mother Zara's diary.
"Her world does a 360 spin when she discovers her hometown London is not where she has always belonged, her father died under mysterious circumstances and she has her entire maternal side that live in Pakistan. Everything she held dear seems to be hollow and a lie she believed to be her truth. She sets out on a journey of a lifetime to rediscover her roots and see the place her parents belonged too, only to discover that her mother's family doesn't even know she exists," read the synopsis.
It also said that Sara is seen facing her demons in the film as she confronts her father's killer but her mother's enemy wants her dead too. All of a sudden reality smacks her in the face because her own won't accept her except for her cousin Chaudary Jameel whom she unwillingly leaves to return back to London but leaves her heart behind with her cousin. The question remains if Jameel will follow her to London and bring her back to their homeland and make her feel at home.
According to the site, the film is two hours and 35 minutes long film and will be hitting theatres on July 8. However, as an Eid release, the film release on a different date in Pakistan.
