Ushna Shah gushes about her encounter with Shahid Afridi on a flight

Pakistan's beloved Lala keeps winning hearts long after he exited our TV screens. Shahid Afridi retired from cricket in 2017 but that's of no consequence, we're sure he still hears Boom Boom Afridi wherever he goes. Actor Ushna Shah took to Twitter to share her encounter with the former cricketer and she only had good things to say.

Calling him "the biggest star of Pakistan," Shah juxtaposed it with how "humble" he is.

The Parizaad actor shared their interaction and said he had many words of "encouragement" and "duas (prayers)" for her. She also described her observations about him and said he was "so gracious and kind to everyone who would come up to him, especially children."

"Lala ney dil jeet liya (Lala has won my heart)," she concluded her tweet.

It's nice to see that stars can be as starstruck as the rest of us when they meet celebrities. Her experience brightened the day of both Shah and Afridi fans.

Shah is not one to hold back when it comes to publicly speaking up about an issue close to her heart — she called for a stop to YouTube visas when Rosie Gabrielle pointed out a trash problem, defended her "sexist" comments towards a delivery person and called for an end to zoos after a white lion died.

Afridi has been pretty actively making rounds in the local news for one reason or another in the past year; his family was approached by Shaheen Afridi's family to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage, he participated in KPL in Muzaffarabad and he launched his own skincare line, Ooh Lala.

Cricketers are real life heroes while actors are always virtual. So, real heroes always inspire people especially actors.

She must've seen him eat an apple the way he was caught tampering a ball and lost my vote.

Shahid Afredi, was way too overrated, whenever he gave a post match interview, he came across someone of low intellect, and immature. He overstayed in the Pak team by some 15 years, mediocre bowling and batting averages, he lost more matches than he won for Pak!! Not sure why people rave on about him, average player, achieved very little on the field, performed well once a while, hence people call him 1 in 10.
