Bollywood star Ranveer Singh says Pakistanis will love a special scene in his upcoming film 83
Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh grabs the spotlight wherever he goes — be it for his snazzy outfits or his loving relationship with wife Deepika Padukone. Recently, he found another reason to be in the limelight — a revelation at his press conference about a treat in store for Pakistani fans in his upcoming film 83.
Addressing a question from a Pakistani at the press conference, Singh said the film has a very "special moment" that Pakistanis are going to love. He also said that the film is full of moments like this that people of all age groups and walks of life are going to enjoy.
The Padmaavat actor also said "but if you are a cricket nut, this film is another trip altogether. If you know those players and you know those details of cricket, and have that cricket keera [bug], it's going to be quite the experience."
Singh's film 83 is set to be released in cinemas on December 24 and he's been promoting it to garner attention before the premiere. Padukone is also starring in the film as Dev's wife Romi.
The sports film is a biographical story based on Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev and how he led the team to victory and won the World Cup in 1983. It has translated real life accounts of cricketers of those times such as Kirti Azad and Balwinder Sandhu into a film that maps out the journey that won the Indian cricket team the trophy.
Singh also shared that the response to the trailer has been positive and it resonated with all kinds of people.
The film's plot may be the story of India's victory in the World Cup but Singh's little spoiler about a special moment for Pakistanis definitely has us intrigued and looking forward to it.
