Shah Rukh Khan wears jacket by Pakistani designer Faraz Manan in latest Diwali ad
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently starred in a Diwali advertisement for Cadbury and while many people are touched by the heartwarming message, Pakistanis are especially happy because his outfit was by a Pakistani designer.
The ad was for Cadbury Celebrations and saw Khan, dubbed India's biggest brand ambassador, become an ambassador for hundreds of small businesses. Cadbury used machine learning to recreate Khan's voice and facial expressions to make it seem like he's taking the names of local stores, thereby allowing hundreds of small businesses to have Shah Rukh Khan as their brand ambassador.
In the video, Khan wears the White Royal Jacket from Faraz Manan's menswear line, which is embroidered with floral motifs and geometric shapes.
Manan is no stranger to dressing stars across the border. He's already extensively featured and dressed Kareena Kapoor in his campaigns — she modelled for his lawn line and walked the runway for him at the 2018 Masala Awards. In fact, cross-border fashion collaborations are pretty common, but we haven't seen King Khan wear anything Pakistani recently.
He has been swept up in legal troubles lately involving his 23-year-old son Aryan, who is in jail in a case involving the use and possession of drugs. After his bail was rejected by lower courts several times, he approached the Bombay High Court for bail and a hearing date has been set for October 26.
