These posters from Aurat March spoke our hearts out

These posters from Aurat March spoke our hearts out

A roundup of our favourites from the march, an annual tradition now.
Updated 19 Sep, 2020

Aurat March 2020 happened nationwide yesterday to commemorate Women's Day and the crowds were bigger than ever before.

Violent protestors showed up with bricks and chilli powder to attack peaceful participants but we just kept marching; just goes to show how unstoppable we are. They tried to bury us, they didn't know we were seeds. Well, they do now.

Like always, many attendees brought their creative A-game and scrawled their demands and desires for Women's Day on some truly brilliant posters. Like seriously, it's taken us all day to narrow it down!

If you still don't get what Aurat March represents, let us break it down for you once again.

Here we go

We demand an end to sexual harassment and domestic violence

An end to rampant child abuse

An end to forced conversions

Repeat after us: trans rights are human rights

For all those who love to call Aurat March an elite affair

Stop holding Zindagi Tamasha hostage

Guess who's back, back again

Starting them young and doing it right. Gives us hope for the upcoming generation

Also a shout-out to the older generation of supportive and feminist parents. Thank you!

Hypocrisy really isn't a good look guys

Shade game with meme game

We feel seen

Big MOOD

We are unconsciously supressing our half - I mean our right half our body is paralyzed by blind sighted prejudice against our daughters, sisters and mothers.

Good to see that Pakistan's government is on board with the women on this. The mindset of the feudal culture has to be overcome, slowly but surely.

Good posters and marching for good cause .i don't know why men are afraid of this march only on the basis of one controversial slogan only. We can't stop a good cause and movement just on the basis of disliking one aspect only.

Yet the now infamous slogan and posters are nowhere to be seen so is this really a victory when it is clear, they caved and the opposition got their way?

I think all are good but not enough play cards on basic rights of women And didn't like " still divorced and happy" and "mujhe hayya sikhany se pehly apni search history dikhao" I think # hayya has nothing to do with search history...

These posters not only speak for themselves, it conveys a deep routed bias against the woman and oppressed in the sub continent. We have to change the world, by taking small steps starting from our home and possibly people around us. The world will change one day.
