Naya Din host Mohammad Shoaib has apologised for his appalling conduct towards Nasir Khan Jan.

The host used his own platform to acknowledge his behaviour and also had Khan Jan on the line to properly apologise and admit his mistake, while commend Nasir for his response.

Addressing the audience, Shoaib said, "My questions were wrong and so was my manner and approach. That hurt the sentiments of Nasir Khan Jan, his fans and all our viewers and I apologise for that, because that was wrong."

"I've learned from what happened. I understand that a guest should be respected and there is a way to ask a question. "

Nasir Khan Jan accepted his apology and commented on the matter itself, saying, "Those people who would send me horrid messages were now supporting me. Wouldn't it have been great if we were all positive with each other like this."

Before, Khan Jan had opened up about the matter and had a message for all channels, saying "When you invite a guest on your show, please respect them. If you treat them with respect, more will happily come on your show."

Same program and same attitude but luckily Nasir Jan got apology. During last month young doctors from local Abbasi Shaheed Hospital were invited and blamed for killing 4000 patient daily just because of their demand for unpaid salary for four months. Future of the country tried their level best to explain structure of OPD, emergency and other departments with responsibilities of Specialists ,Duty Doctors, House officers and nursing staff but the two male and female hosts were not ready to hear any thing and continued insulting without giving young doctors any chance to clear their position. It needs also some attention as media should be polite and humble to show correct image of every profession and aggressive behavior can not earn top ranking.

@Asad agree. Respect is a prerequisite for all communications and media. Pay a heavy fine and be put on probation for three years. Another offense, and a jail sentence awaits, you can chat with NS and soon Zardari.

Everyone deserves a second chance but if he repeats the same attitude he should be fired. Because then either he is just faking it or ther is a serious problem.

The problem is anybody can become a talk show host especially with money and connections but without any professional training or merit. Most shows are run by actors and models. Journalists should be talk shows hosts as they have training in interviewing guests. Look at Diane Sawyer, Oprah Winfrey for inspiration.

Good precedent. Hope other TV hosts are watching. Social media is changing the world. It's becoming more inclusive and all point of views must be given respect. We can disagree and still co exist.

One piece of advice for him (host) is that , he has a higher chance of wining arguments expressing softly and concisely with respectful vocabulary compared to yelling back and over talking. This is what i have experienced in my life. These incidents are bound to happen when there is no institution or codes of ethics and training for the people who get hired. " Sifarish' culture has ruined this country. There is no set standard of qualification for jobs in Pakistani media. Anyone who knows a powerful executive in media ends up on the screen because they need a job. What is the qualification of this host wrangling with a guest on screen and did not want to let go. He needs to learn some manners in general. He forgot he was sitting on TV not his living room. He turned it into a Yelling contest.

I doubt he's learnt anything ..... he will learn only if he is penalized for a period of time. The person seems unfit to compare a show that is supposed to be a responsible show.

No my dear brother. The way you were talking to Nasir Khan Jan can't be forgiven this easily. You were not hosting for the first time. You knew all the secrets, manners and ups and downs of how to deal with a guest. You have done your part and I appreciate that but now Samaa TV should be heavily penalised and also be banned or imposed with strict laws that it can't even think of airing this kind of program again. I request PEMRA to please come forward and bring Justice to a layman like me like NKJ.

I am sorry but I don't think he really means it, he has been pressurised by the comments and by his employer to apologise! He has misbehaved in a similar manner with other guests in the past but hasn't apoloised cause there was no pressure. I believe he is an ill mannered person who is a disgrace for his profession.

We know commercial value and rating of any program and how it influence the attitude and behavior of anchor person. Being a common citizen of this country , I will never support what is happening on the name of cultural revolution and westernized culture and may be also on the side of anchor as may be he was right. Apologizing under the pressure from owners and authorities and on the other hand, from your bottom of heart should be segregated. Young doctors also deserve same respect as show business person but never been apologized in similar manner although having more knowledge than any XYZ .

Isn’t that the norm nowadays among politicians? Say anything obnoxious and then apologize. He basically insulted himself and not the other person. Wish he would know!
