We finally get to see Tom Hardy as Venom in the new trailer

It starts out rocky but hey at least Venom is in his own trailer!

We were among many who were disappointed when Spider-man villain Venom's spin-off movie launched its teaser back in February.

Why? Because there was no Venom in it.

But now the trailer is out and Sony knows better than to have their fans waiting anymore. This year's CinemaCon saw Venom's trailer and were glad to see Venom actually in it!

Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock, a man who ends up being host to a sentient alien Symbiote. The trailer shows a very different tone compared to the slightly light-hearted way the characters in the Spider-Man universe are usually shown as. Oh well, makes sense since Sony is heading this project and not Marvel.

We also see Riz Ahmed as the baddie in the film and we're guessing many will head into the cinema just to see him in action. Not judging.

The plot of the film seems straightforward but we're kinda irked by the idea, what with half the trailer having jump-scares and resembling a Hollywood produced Japanese horror film. Also, Hardy saying, "You should be extremely afraid," had us debating whether it reminded us of the Hulk or Puss in Boots, it was too cliche.

But that glimpse of Venom has us all thinking, "Oh what the heck, we'll watch it!"

Venom releases October 5.
