Kumail Nanjiani is slaying 2017!

The Pakistani-American stand-up comedian and actor Kumail Nanjiani‏ will be hosting popular American late night sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live (SNL) in October.

The actor took to social media to break the news.

Nanjiani's debut will follow Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot's debut at the show. Alongside him will be P!NK as the musical guest for the evening.

Nanjiani, who earlier this year won the Comedy Star of the Year Award, rose to fame after his film The Big Sick ─ a romantic comedy based on the real life courtship between him and his American wife ─ was released earlier in July.

The actor is also well known for his role as Dinesh in the award-winning show Silicon Valley ─ a comedy series on HBO that takes viewers into the world of young programmers and computer engineers.

With Nanjiani's sharp comic sense, political humour and satire skills, we're looking forward to October 14th!
