Can Tom Holland be any more precious? Yes, yes he can.

Holland won everyone's hearts as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man from the moment he made his appearance in Captain America: Civil War. Well, everyone but one.

Kirsten Dunst, known for her performance as Mary-Jane in the first Spider-Man trilogy, doesn't seem too eager about Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In an interview with Marie Claire, Dunst claimed the first trilogy to be superior.

Says Dunst, "We made the best ones, so who cares? I’m like, 'You make it all you want.' They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?"

In another interview with Variety, she says, "I don’t care. Everyone likes our Spider-Man. C’mon, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones."

Perhaps if Dunst had said this before the release of Homecoming we'd have understood her sentiments. We all wondered if there was a need for a Spider-Man reboot and Andrew Garfield's Amazing Spider-Man didn't win us over. But after the film's release, and Tom Holland's impeccable performance, this is just appalling. And it definitely beat 'the first ones'.

But while we were seething over these statements, Tom Holland knew how to handle it, embodying 'With great power, comes great responsibility'.

The actor responded to the criticism while speaking to Movie'n'co UK. Says Holland, "You know, she’s entitled to her own opinion and I’m not one to judge at all. I definitely am not doing this movie for the money. I mean, it’s a job that I think anyone would do regardless of what you were getting paid, you know?"

He adds, "All I know is I had the greatest time on this movie and I absolutely loved it and, you know, if she doesn’t want to go and see it, I don’t really care. I don’t dislike her in any way for what she said and she’s entitled to her own opinion, so it’s all cool."

Peter Parker may have powers of an arachnid but Tom Holland has the power to melt our hearts. We can't wait to see more of him on the silver screen!

Kirsten in right. The whole marvel universe thing is becoming an overkill and is based primarily on greed. The original Spider-Man series is classic. I watched it in my early 20s and I loved it. I was dissapointed when they didn't further the series and opted for a reboot instead. The studios didn't want Spider-Man to get old cause they were scared it would alienate the teen demographic. I decided then that I will not be contributing my time or my $ towards the studios insatiable greed.

This movie is just like a warmup for the next Avengers franchise, an introduction to Spiderman. Yes i agree with Miss Dunst.

*Tom Holland I agree with Tom when he says she is entitled to her own opinion. The original Spider-Man is a classic superhero movie. I, however, think this is classic Spider-Man. This is the teenage, friendly neighborhood Spider-Man I grew up with in the comics. Depending on the upcoming movies, I believe this could be the greatest Spider-Man yet. It truly captures the introverted, brainy, sweet Peter Parker; along with the cool web-slinging hero we all know and love.
