Fawad Khan, Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch nominated for Filmfare awards

If Kapoor & Sons proved anything, it was that Fawad Khan is a phenomenal actor.

No wonder the Pakistani actor got nominated for the 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards 2017 in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) catergory for his role in Kapoor & Sons.

Filmfare shared the list of nominees on their webpage, and what do you know? Fawad Khan is up against his Kapoor & Sons co-star, Rishi Kapoor. This is going to be a tough one, but we have our hearts sets on Fawad.

Fawad is up against veteran actor Rishi Kapoor!

In 2015, Fawad Khan became the first Pakistani to win the prestigious Filmfare award in the Best Male Debut category for his work in Khoobsurat.

In the Best Playback Singer (Male) category, Atif Aslam finds himself nominated for 'Tere Sang Yara' (Rustom). He will be competing against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan ('Jag Ghoomeya' - Sultan) for the award, among others.

This is Atif and Rahat's fifth nomination for the Filmfare Award in the same category. Previously, Atif had been nominated for 'Jeena Jeena,' Badlapur in 2016, 'Tu Jaane Na,' Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2010, 'Tere Bin,' Bas Ek Pal in 2007 and 'Woh Lamhe Woh Baatein,' Zeher in 2006.

Rahat, on the other hand, won the Filmfare award in 2011 for his song 'Dil Toh Bacha Hai,' Ishqiya. His other nominations were for 'Teri Meri,' Bodyguard in 2012, 'Sajdaa,' My Name Is Khan in 2011 and 'Aaj Din Chadheya,' Love Aaj Kal in 2010.

In a first, Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch has been nominated in the Best Playback Singer (Female) category for her song 'Kari Kari' in Pink.

Here's to hoping they make us proud at the Filmfare's.

isn't this article tad too late? Mr. Rishi Kapoor won it..

sidsingh Jan 10, 2017 12:21pm

Filmfare awards are all rubbish. If you belong to a particular lobby, you will get the award. They can create a different category if they decide to award you. Also, If you perform on stage, you will definitely win the awards. Good luck to Fawad.

sATT Jan 10, 2017 12:36pm

Last nomination,Last film.

Deependra Jan 10, 2017 01:00pm

India just doesent let go of Pakistan actors even when they are not interested in working in Bollywood. India is a terribly friendly country.

MIRZA Jan 10, 2017 01:03pm

Good luck guyz!

ZAFAR Jan 10, 2017 01:07pm

For Pakistanis, Filmfare is as elusive as Oscars.

Vivek - Indore, MP Jan 10, 2017 01:08pm

He's talented of course he'll win.

Vivek - Indore, MP Jan 10, 2017 01:11pm

@sidsingh That happens for most of the "award" ceremonies but I'm pretty much sure that Filmfare isn't one of them.

Adeel Jan 10, 2017 01:15pm

@Deependra bro India needs to keep Pakistan alive in the media in the politics all for the sake of winning votes , here in Pakistan we don't need India because here no one win's election only on the basis of hating India , people gonna think that party have just out of track but in India its a completely different story more bashing you do against Pakistan more chances of winning and yet you guys are very friendly lol

Alexey Jan 10, 2017 01:43pm

@Mir Or maybe you're just reading it now :)

bharat Jan 10, 2017 02:21pm

I am not sure of the logic of nominating people who are not even eligible to work here.

point of view Jan 10, 2017 02:39pm

@Adeel, you need a change in thinking.

Asif Kashmiri Jan 10, 2017 02:50pm

@bharat speaking like a true indian

D.K. PAMNANI Jan 10, 2017 03:28pm

Indian Film Industry recognises the talent without any caste, country. Congrats to Fawad ad others. Hope, your country will also reciprocate the Indian talents in Pakistan

LEO Jan 10, 2017 05:06pm

He's an average actor. Just don't know why Shaan is not working in Bollywood !

bharat Jan 10, 2017 05:21pm

@Asif Kashmiri

Its a fact.

Luqman hafeez Jan 10, 2017 06:29pm

Rishi Kapoor was overwhelming in Kapoor & Sons, a very well-deserved award.

ajay Jan 10, 2017 11:08pm

forget everything man... but one must agree that he is very handsome dude.

parveez shafi Jan 11, 2017 01:47am

He will not win, even if he was the best, as these actors are not welcome in India.

Saira kalim mirza Jan 11, 2017 04:15am

@MIRZA double good luck

Akil Akhtar Jan 11, 2017 08:16am

For what...he is an average actor....same style in every role.

Irfan ul Huq Jan 11, 2017 09:23am

@sidsingh obviously you do not know the process of the award. Though it may be flawed but there is a process.

mohammad rehan Jan 11, 2017 09:39am

Talent should not bound in the boundries. It should free from it. And nations are liable for its democracy. And every nation should follow piece espically pakistan and china

gaurav Jan 11, 2017 09:50am

@Asif Kashmiri and you thinking like a true Pakistani

gaurav Jan 11, 2017 09:53am

@Mir Rishi Kapoor won that for Screen Awards, not Filmfare Awards

VEgito Jan 11, 2017 10:32am

@LEO Maybe because Shaan has some degree of self-respect?

Niaz H. Jafri Jan 11, 2017 11:05am

Indeed great to hear about these nominations ! Both the relevant stakeholders in India and Pakistan must lift ban on each other immediately. At least, India has definitely shown magnanimity and nominated Pakistanis for their biggest cinema awards. Arts, culture, literature and sports should be above petty politics.

K-ash Jan 11, 2017 11:56am

Fawad is undoubtedly a wonderful and a talented actor. He has a big fan following here in India particularly the female fans.

Aqueel Jan 11, 2017 12:22pm

@Mir this is filmfare nomination not stardust awards

KT Jan 11, 2017 05:55pm

Fawad must earn the award as his role of few minutes substantially boosted movies success.

Maria Jan 12, 2017 05:04pm

@ZAFAR It's not.
