Fawad Khan, Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch nominated for Filmfare awards

Even Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan have been nominated. Ban? What ban?
Updated 10 Jan, 2017

If Kapoor & Sons proved anything, it was that Fawad Khan is a phenomenal actor.

No wonder the Pakistani actor got nominated for the 62nd Jio Filmfare Awards 2017 in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Male) catergory for his role in Kapoor & Sons.

Filmfare shared the list of nominees on their webpage, and what do you know? Fawad Khan is up against his Kapoor & Sons co-star, Rishi Kapoor. This is going to be a tough one, but we have our hearts sets on Fawad.

Fawad is up against veteran actor Rishi Kapoor!

In 2015, Fawad Khan became the first Pakistani to win the prestigious Filmfare award in the Best Male Debut category for his work in Khoobsurat.

In the Best Playback Singer (Male) category, Atif Aslam finds himself nominated for 'Tere Sang Yara' (Rustom). He will be competing against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan ('Jag Ghoomeya' - Sultan) for the award, among others.

This is Atif and Rahat's fifth nomination for the Filmfare Award in the same category. Previously, Atif had been nominated for 'Jeena Jeena,' Badlapur in 2016, 'Tu Jaane Na,' Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani in 2010, 'Tere Bin,' Bas Ek Pal in 2007 and 'Woh Lamhe Woh Baatein,' Zeher in 2006.

Rahat, on the other hand, won the Filmfare award in 2011 for his song 'Dil Toh Bacha Hai,' Ishqiya. His other nominations were for 'Teri Meri,' Bodyguard in 2012, 'Sajdaa,' My Name Is Khan in 2011 and 'Aaj Din Chadheya,' Love Aaj Kal in 2010.

In a first, Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch has been nominated in the Best Playback Singer (Female) category for her song 'Kari Kari' in Pink.

Here's to hoping they make us proud at the Filmfare's.

Filmfare awards are all rubbish. If you belong to a particular lobby, you will get the award. They can create a different category if they decide to award you. Also, If you perform on stage, you will definitely win the awards. Good luck to Fawad.

@sidsingh That happens for most of the "award" ceremonies but I'm pretty much sure that Filmfare isn't one of them.

@Deependra bro India needs to keep Pakistan alive in the media in the politics all for the sake of winning votes , here in Pakistan we don't need India because here no one win's election only on the basis of hating India , people gonna think that party have just out of track but in India its a completely different story more bashing you do against Pakistan more chances of winning and yet you guys are very friendly lol

I am not sure of the logic of nominating people who are not even eligible to work here.

Talent should not bound in the boundries. It should free from it. And nations are liable for its democracy. And every nation should follow piece espically pakistan and china

Indeed great to hear about these nominations ! Both the relevant stakeholders in India and Pakistan must lift ban on each other immediately. At least, India has definitely shown magnanimity and nominated Pakistanis for their biggest cinema awards. Arts, culture, literature and sports should be above petty politics.
