Here's the complete list of winners from the 2016 IIFA Awards

Ranveer and Deepika bagged the two most important accolades, Best Actor and Actress respectively; no shocker there.
26 Jun, 2016

Bollywood's biggest night came and went, stars glittered and gleamed on the red carpet and some went home with the coveted IIFA Award, dubbed the Bolly Oscar by many.

The evening, which was hosted by cool cats, Shahid Kapoor and Farhan Akhtar (who arrived at the venue on donkeys!), happened in Madrid this year; needless to say, stars showed up dressed to nines.

Epic period drama Bajirao Mastani scooped three major awards including best film, best actor (male) for Singh and best supporting actress for Chopra.

Padukone won the best actor (female) award for her role in the comedy Piku, although she was nominated for her role as Mastani in Bajirao Mastani as well.

While the winners list is not surprising, we know you’re all curious to know who took the trophy home.

Awards given on "ism" Bajrangi Bhaijaan was by far the best movie of the year. Bajirao Mastani was an absolute waste of time. There was nothing in that movie.

Many Indians complain about the negative influence of Bollywood on Indian youth. Should we not worry about Pakistani youths as well.

Bajirao 's character even today is considered as the only general who never lost a single battle , even in India many are not aware of his greatness

I find it really weird and disrespectful that the Bollywood fraternity earns their livelihood by making Hindi films, and yet their language of communication at these gatherings is almost 100% English. In fact, there is almost a competition as to who could phrase English better. Obviously there is an inherent thinking by them that somehow their pride would be dented if they spoke in Hindi. Basically, it is tantamount to mocking their own work!

@Alam - may be in Pakistan the awards are based on religion, but in India they are still based on performance.

@romi Reality, my dear, reality. Humanistically, Bajrangi was in a class by itself. Bajirao, we understand, was not a 100% true reflection of the incidents of that period, and, thus, is open to question and debate. A crude mimicry of MUGHAL-E-AZAM should not have been hyped like the way it has been in the recent past. While making of Bajrangi, with the 2-country type of background, was extraordinarily difficult, Bajirao, with a flood of Sets & Costumes flowing all the way, should be perceived as a relatively easier project.

@bari09 All these so-called Superstars are trying to do is, blindly aping the Western stars and, sometimes even trying to outdo these Hollywood stars, with their not-so-perfect vocabularies. Even their mannerisms and interactions with the public appear to be 'fake' because it's 'imported'.
