Did the Sindh sports minister just challenge his Punjab counterpart to 50 push-ups?

Did the Sindh sports minister just challenge his Punjab counterpart to 50 push-ups?

If there was ever any doubt that this man's fit for the job, it's gone now.
15 Aug, 2016

If you thought the Sindh sports minister wasn't earning his keep, you have another thing coming.

Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, or so we've so lovingly dubbed him the Sardar of Swag has put to rest any talk about his lack of athleticism; the new politician on the block has reinterpreted the Misbah challenge and created his own.

While talking to the media today, the 28-year-old casually threw out a challenge at Punjab's sports minister, Mr. Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan to do 50 push-ups because, well, he can. He prides himself on being a sportsman, just like those he wishes to inspire, he shared.

And of course Bux doesn't just talk the talk, he also walks the walk.

Yep, that's him doing 50 push-ups in less than 40 seconds. If that doesn't give you motivation to hit the gym, we don't know what will!

Your move, Mr. Khan.

good to see a young guy challenging on sports level, btw the pushups were not complete, you have to bend yourself a bit more. i challenge Mr Sports minister to run with me half marathon, sky dive and to paraglide

Being a sportsman doesn't qualify you to be a sports minister, same as Shahid Afridi, who being a cricketer didn't qualify him to be a good captain either. One has to be a good sports administrator to fill the ministry. One needs some good sense, which time will only prove.

I can do 50 push ups in less than two minutes! That's not a huge challenge.. 100 in five minutes would be a worthy challenge!

Technically incorrect. Chest not coming down enough, has to be in line with your shoulders at minimum. Torso to be straightened, the body from shoulder blade to ankles has to be a plank i.e. straight line and not arching as in this video. May be a boot camp in abottabad would do saien a world of good, helped the cricket team!

"If you thought the Sindh sports minister wasn't earning his keep, you have another thing coming" Does this mean if some other guy/girl does 51 pushups in 40 seconds, he/she would be the next sports minister of Sindh? Are you sure he was appointed because of his athleticism and not because his name is SARDAR Muhammad Bux Khan MAHAR?

He needs to go back to army drills and witness what a push up really is, that was a excuse of a push up. Even though i agree that Punjab sports minister would not be able to replicate it.

The job of the sports ministers is not having push up matches. It would have been more appropriate if he had challenged his counterparts of having a better sports infrastructure, or sending more athletes to the upcoming international sporting event than the other provinces. You can only expect teenage immaturity from a 28 years-old feudal put into office.

This Pushup challenge is childish. Real challenge is to see if Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar, Mr Big Name, can arrange sports events as big as Rana Mashood did in Punjab, like Punjab Youth Festival.

This is not the right way to do push-ups. Lol that's barely half a push-up your back should be as parallel to the floor as possible. and you should go all the way down.

Aggree with Ali! good intention of Mr. Minister but the its not proper push up, he has to bring his chest close to the ground. Nice direction of competition now initiated, Mr. Minister and his competitors Minister after doing the push ups should look into the affairs of sports, parks and tracking in Our Country .
