Ramsha Khan and Khushal Khan are starring in a new drama for ARY Digital called Biryani. We’re not sure why it’s named biryani, but the internet sure is amused by it.

The first look for the drama released on Thursday and featured Ramsha acting quite aggressively. In one scene she threatens a fellow student and in another she tells Khushal, who is clearly her love interest, that she has dealt with the kids of many big people.

“You know what your problem is? You like acting like a baap [father],” says Khushal. Sarwat Gilani is also featured in the trailer, but we aren’t told who she is. From the drama poster, it appears that she may be an antagonist.

“She’s a simple girl, her world is just university and home. He’s an obedient boy, who ends up becoming her student. It’s a love story that travels across hearts, crosses distances, and stays with the soul,” reads the description of the show. But none of that tells us why the show is named Biryani.

It all started when one user shared his excitement over the upcoming show.

But more than the show itself, the internet was quite fixated on the name and how it was at complete odds with the very serious looking poster.

The biryani jokes extended to Gilani standing in the poster, looking quite menacing.

If by aloo they mean the best part, then yes, we think she could potentially wow us with her performance.

There was Kabuli Pulao. Now there’s Biryani. What’s next?
