Main Hoon Na 2 reportedly in development at Red Chillies Entertainment: Indian media
A sequel to Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan’s 2004 blockbuster Main Hoon Na, which championed Pak-India friendship, is reportedly in the works.
According to multiple Indian publications, the project is in the development stage at Shah Rukh’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment. Sources close to the development told Pinkvilla that Farah has come up with an idea for Main Hoon Na 2, which Shah Rukh has found promising.
Currently, she is working on the screenplay with her team of writers and those at Red Chillies. While the idea has excited Shah Rukh, he is waiting for the final script before committing to the project.
The actor is said to be cautious about green-lighting a sequel just for the sake of it and wants the screenplay to surpass the impact of the original film.
The first draft is expected to be ready by mid-2025, after which a decision will be made on whether to go ahead with the sequel.
If the film materialises, it will mark the fourth collaboration between Shah Rukh and Farah, following Main Hoon Na (2004), Om Shanti Om (2007), and Happy New Year (2014), all of which have been hits.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh is currently focused on King, directed by Siddharth Anand, slated for a 2026 release. He is also involved in Pathaan 2, the next instalment of YRF’s Spy Universe, which is in the writing stage.
More details on a probable Main Hoon Na 2 are expected in the coming months.
