It’s February 8 — election day — and it’s time to cast your vote. Here are some celebrities who went out, exercised their constitutional rights and voted to elect leaders for the country — and want you to do the same!

1. Atiqa Odho

Atiqa Odho took her entire family to vote and shared this cute picture of multiple generations of voters.

2. Mariyam Nafees

Mariyam Nafees and her husband Amaan Ahmed both went out and voted! She also shared a video of herself urging people to vote as well as a helpful guide.

3. Osman Khalid Butt

Osman Khalid Butt went out to exercise his constitutional right, and told everyone that it was a beautiful day to go out and vote.

He also reminded his followers that mobile phones and digital watches were prohibited inside the polling station.

“If you didn’t print your information (from messaging 8300), just memorise your block code and serial number or write it down before entering. It’ll help make the process easier,” he wrote on Instagram.

We really appreciate this PSA from Butt! Everyone with a platform should be urging their followers to vote and reminding them of the rules and regulations.

4. Hina Khwaja Bayat

Hina Khwaja Bayat shared a video that she too had voted. The veteran actor urged people to head to polling stations early. She believed that polling stations were delaying voting to reduce voter turnout and encouraged people to show up and fulfil their civic duty.

5. Fatima Effendi Kanwar

The actor told her followers to go out and do their part after she went and voted.

Nayab actor Usama Khan also voted and showed off support for his chosen party.

7. Mawra Hocane

Mawra Hocane shared a sun-kissed video of herself on the way to her polling station .

8. Bushra Ansari

Bushra Ansari informed her workplace that she would be late to her shoot because she had to vote first. The actor prayed for the betterment of Pakistan.

9. Ayeza Khan

Ayeza Khan shared a picture of her thumb marked with ink. She reminded everyone to text their CNIC numbers to 8300 to know their polling details.

10. Natasha Noorani

The singer showed off her inked thumb against the sky.

11. Hamza Ali Abbasi

Hamza Ali Abbasi confirmed that he too voted with a picture on his Instagram story.

12. Bilal Maqsood

The Strings singer shared a sweet little verse which translated to “I’m a small thumb but I will achieve big things”, with a picture of his thumb.

13. Ahmed Ali Butt

Ahmed Ali Butt kept it short and sweet advising people to “vote or shut up”.

14. Munib Nawaz

Munib Nawaz urged everyone to do their “best” as he shared a picture of himself after voting.

15. Mahira Khan

Great to see everyone exercising their right to vote even if the this election been pre rigged!!! Unfortunately we overseas voters have been deprived of this right . I wonder why??

Jamil Awan, there is actually a procedure to vote as an expat, its called mail in vote, the same way imran khan himself voted from his prison cell, and nobody has excluded you or said you cant vote, elections are held every 5 years, so once every 5 years you can come visit during election and cast your vote yourself too!

All countries around the world facilitate their citizens living abroad to vote in their respective Embassies and Consulates. It is ironic Pakistan doesn't provide this facility.
