Virat Kohli is expanding his restaurant business with One8 Commune, his recent project in Mumbai in which he has converted Kishore Kumar’s bungalow into a restaurant in Juhu.

On Wednesday, Kohli took to Instagram and shared a video clip of TV presenter and actor Maniesh Paul outside the restaurant giving a brief view of the Gouri Kunj, the bungalow and Kohli’s vision behind the restaurant. He emphasised that food is his biggest priority and he wants customers to keep coming back for more with the “chill out” vibe the new restaurant has to offer.

In the video, Kohli gives Paul a tour and takes him for a taste testing that saw the actor and cricketer burst into laughter at the sight of chopsticks which Paul didn’t know how to use.

The JugJugg Jeeyo actor praised Kohli’s involvement in the new project and cricket side by side. “I don’t get going with anything if I can’t be involved. If I’m attached to a project, I need to be invested,” said the Indian batsman.

The restaurant seems to feature natural elements such as wood tones and green accents from plants placed in every corner. It also features Kohli’s digital jerseys on the walls.

Talking more about the food, Kohli said the quality “speaks for itself” and recalled his worst food experience that he had in Paris with his actor-wife Anushka Sharma and daughter Vamika. He said, “for vegetarians that was a nightmare, there were not many options. And there was a language barrier.”

Speaking more about the location and how it’s known as the ‘Koi Humdum na Raha’ singer’s home, Kohli explained that he is a fan of Kumar and also sang a verse from ‘Mere Mehboob Qayamat Hogi’. “His songs have really really touched me. One person asked me who would you have like to met, I would have said Kishore Da always because he was just charismatic,” he said.

The cricketer owns a chain of restaurants by the same name in Delhi, Kolkata and Pune. He is also an investor in several other businesses, including brands as well. Apart from his role as restaurateur, he will be returning to the field for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia starting from October 16.

I fail to catch the connection between Kishore Kumar and a restaurant. If he wants to associate KK with something it could have been a music school. I think this will be a drop!

@Anonymouseee "Money is all what Indians think about" Yes we think about making it with our hard work and intelligence, not going around the world asking for charity and loans like our neighbors.

@Anonymouseee Don't Pakistanis think about money? Remember the comment one of the American diplomats made about what Pakistanis would do for $20??
