Comedian Tabish Hashmi is ready to say goodbye to TBH

He will soon be hosting a brand new show on Geo TV

When you think of comedian Tabish Hashmi, you can't help but think of his online talk show To Be Honest (TBH) as well. The two seem to go hand-in-hand these days but that's about to change.

The comedian hosts TBH on Nashpati Prime's YouTube channel, described as a "juicy, fun and candid gossip show with TV, film and digital celebrities". On the show, Hashmi has interviewed celebrities such as Sanam Jung and Saboor Aly as well as social media content creators like Irfan Junejo and Taimoor Salahuddin aka Mooroo.

Hashmi recently disclosed to Images that he'll be leaving TBH to host a new show on Geo TV. That's definitely a big leap forward for the comedian. While the rumour mill was speculating that Hashmi would be joining Khabarnaak, he put that claim to rest and said he'll be hosting a brand new show of his own.

"Yes I'll be joining Geo TV and leaving TBH," he said. "It is not going to be Khabarnaak, it's going to be a brand new show. Unfortunately I can't reveal too many details about the show at the moment. I'll be coming to Pakistan in February and reveal more details at that time."

Khabarnaak is a talk show on Geo TV featuring satirical discussions on politics, social issues and the like.

Apart from TBH, we last saw the actor regale the audience with a skit on the Lux Style Awards' stage in October. We're curious to see what the comedian has in store for us with his upcoming new show.

@Tabish Ali Khan This guy is a wonderful addition to the pool of some renowned comedians Pakistan has produced. "Other countries, besides producing comedians, produce goods, services, technologies, ideas etc. And we only produce comedians, and that too imported ones. Cheers to us."

That dude is not funny at all. There used to be a time when Pak had great comedians such as Umer sharif, and the great Moin Akhter. Alad as with everything in Pak it is going down hill

His delivery is pathetic and he seems to enjoy his comedy more than others would. Unfortunately, in part of our country, laughing on your own jokes is somehow considered very comedic and not understanding a joke (even for its shortcoming) is considered an act of intelligent comedy. Hence, overall, due to mediocre standards and not well understood as well as delayed response by viewers, he will continue to be considered better than he actually is.

@Tabish Ali Khan off-the-street comedy only gets such high status in our country. In this context, people on the street are better than him. Give them a chance.

Congratulations Tabish. Please don't lower the quality of your comedy for "the masses". Rise up high like the greats of the past. Geo has not produced any good comedy shows to date, please do not compromise on quality. Stay humble and do your own thing. Don't sell out.
