Meghan, the wife of Prince Harry, has complained to Britain’s media regulator about broadcaster Piers Morgan and his comment that he did not believe a word she had said in her landmark interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Morgan, a former tabloid editor and CNN presenter, left his high-profile job on ITV’s Good Morning Britain this week after a backlash against his comments on the interview, in which Meghan revealed she had felt suicidal while living as a royal in Britain.

In an interview that has shaken Britain’s monarchy, Meghan, who married Prince Harry in 2018, said the royal family had also rejected her pleas for mental health support.

The morning after the interview was aired on U.S. television, Morgan said on Good Morning Britain, among a torrent of other criticisms, that he did not believe a word Meghan had said. In a Tweet, he called her “Princess Pinocchio”.

Monday’s programme attracted more than 41,000 complaints to Britain’s media regulator Ofcom, the second highest in its history, which announced an investigation. Media reports said the couple had also complained to broadcaster ITV.

“We can confirm receipt of a standards complaint made on behalf of the Duchess of Sussex,” a spokesman for Ofcom said on Friday, in reference to Meghan’s official title.

Meghan and Harry have clashed repeatedly with Britain’s media, particularly the tabloid newspapers which they have accused of bigotry and invading their privacy.

She is always attacked by the British media. Probably because she is American, and does not understand British customs, rather than being mixed race. There is a generation gap between WWII generation, post WWII generation and younger people who have forgotten the war.

She should have asked Morgan, why her son Archie has not been accepted as Royal Prince?

American thrash is only good for America, cannot adjust anywhere else. She was a second grade actress and ended up in the palace and became a royal. I bet she never ever dreamed of being in the position she was. She simply could not handle the responsibility and the pressure that comes with being a princess. Majority of what she said during the interview was a lie, very well acted by the actress.

This cunning Meghan availing a golden chance to degrade THE QUEEN and the British Media, after seeing the interview ,it clearly SHOWS that she is lying about certain thing, especially about her health,if she was unwell mentally surely you and your husband shoud consult DOCTORS behind doors.AND do not belierve is is mentally sick.SHE AND HARRY has caused lots of damage.I back Piers Morgan through and through.

I also , i am sure along with many people, agree with Piers Morgan that a great deal of the interview was fictitious. It is hard to believe that she had no understanding of what being a person married to a member of the royal family would be like. Again i do not believe that if she had aired her views to members of the Royal family that no action was taken. If as stated bin the interview that she was close to being suicidal than i am sure some action by the royal family would have been taken if this had been stated. Yes there were 41000 complaints but how many others agreed with Piers Morgan. Maybe looking that the viewing figures to GMB have decreased by11% since Piers Morgan left the show may answer for itself what the great British public think.

Piers Morgan is a racist bigot and is notorious for bad behaviour especially towards those belonging to BAME communities. I am not surprised by his hatred towards Meghan.

Becoming annoying with this two H&M, magazines, news papers, cameras, TV it is all about them. They are not interesting any more. MM after she settle down in her mansion by the ocean, two kids, always wants something else like she never satisfied with all she has. She wants to get more exiting, hurt the RF, damage the R., the Queen, people she thinks they deserve the worse. It is always about her but she never considered what good they did for her when she was with them. I dont think was said that word about her son. Maybe in a different way but she using this so the people will believe her like Oprah. And at the other side ruing the RF.

@richie It's not right because he is misusing TV platform to mould public opinion against an individual. Plus he is a bigot.

The British royal family cannot live without dramas to attract everyone's attention. They are sucking hardworking tax payers money while contributing nothing productive to the British coffers. If they do real work like everyone then they don’t need to sell their dirty royal stories to TV and live off that. They certainly cannot accept anyone who is not British nor non-white into the Royal Family. Racisms at its best.
