Sajal Ahad Mir, formerly Sajal Ali, is in London shooting for Jemima Goldsmith's What’s Love Got To Do With It? and making us proud.

Her inclusion in the cast was confirmed last month after a lot of speculation and hype. The last non-Pakistani movie she starred in was the 2017 Mom alongside Sridevi.

She and Goldsmith both posted pictures together on their Instagram accounts.

The team is currently shooting in London and we can't wait to see the movie.

What's Love Got To Do With It is a rom-com written by Goldsmith and directed by Shekhar Kapur, who is known for Elizabeth: The Golden Age. He also directed Mr India and Dil Se.

It also stars Lily James, Shazad Latif, Emma Thompson, Rob Brydon, Asim Chaudhry, and Shabana Azmi.

Goldsmith also posted a picture on her Instagram Stories with Azmi.

The movie is set between London and South Asia, exploring cross-cultural conflicts of love and marriage.

“It’s a story of identities,” Kapur had told Variety in November. “It’s about cultural clashes and it’s a comedy, but it’s about hiding behind an identity and how identities can become tribal, and how tribalism can lead to clashes and fundamentalism. It’s a rom-com, but based on this fundamental idea of people adopting identities out of fear of marginalisation.”

@Rashid Yes people from Frontier and Panjab are good looking than rest of South Asia - no questions asked. Except Mr Bachhan and a few Bengalis :)

@Shivalik Nagar that’s a very racist and one sided view. All people are beautiful in their own way. Beauty is way more than just the shade of your skin colour - just look at the South Indian people!

@Shivalik Nagar Thanks for your comments. Beauty is a relative term. I believe all people are beautiful however, fair complexioned (skin tone 1,2,3) actors dominated the black and white screens as they were more photogenic for that era in India. That has changed now as the media has changed hence more darker skin tone actors are enjoying leading roles mainly due to their acting skills. However, Mr Bachan has roots in Lyallpur West India (now Faisalabad, Pakistan) as her mother was born there.
