Wrong Number 2's trailer failed to tickle our funny bone

The romantic comedy doesn't seem to have too much romance or on point comedy

After releasing a little teaser earlier this month, Wrong Number 2's first trailer is finally here.

Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer star as the leads in the romantic comedy, which doesn't seem to have too much romance or on point comedy:

The sequel is the story of a rich woman, Zoya (Neelam) whose father (Javed Sheikh) wants her to marry a man of his choice (of course). Enter Sami Khan's character who Zoya is in love with and who isn't of the same social status as her. Obviously, this means the duo has to get creative about how to convince her dad.

The trailer might've given away a lot of the story (it's nearly three minutes) or maybe they have some tricks up their sleeve to surprise us anyway. But from the looks of it, we've been walked through nearly every twist in the story, even the ending which seems predictable to begin with.

That said, the production value looks much better this time around and we're yet to see if Neelam and Sami have real chemistry onscreen so we'll wait for the movie before passing any judgements.

In an earlier interview with Images, Khan had revealed: "It's essentially a love story but the situations are a little odd for love; it's not that the characters have a funny sense of humour but it's the circumstances that make their actions and words funny. It's got a nice twist."

The original film followed Danish Taimoor as he connives to and succeeds in swapping lives with a lookalike millionaire in order to escape his father's ultimatum of getting a job and settling down with the neighbour's daughter (Sohai Ali Abro).

Danish Nawaz, Shafqat Cheema and Nayyar Ejaz will return to feature in the new film.

Wrong Number 2 will release this Eid-ul-Fitr.
