We revealed back in October that Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer will be pairing up for Wrong Number's sequel.
Khan and the Chupan Chupai actress have been roped in as the leads whereas Javed Sheikh, Danish Nawaz, Shafqat Cheema and Nayyar Ejaz will return to feature in the new film.
Talking about the upcoming flick, Khan reveals, "It's going to be a fun-filled ride! When I became part of this project, the way director Yasir Nawaz told us the story, it made me chuckle. When we got to the execution, there were so many moments on set when we'd end up laughing during takes so we thought hey, it made us laugh, maybe it'll strike a chord with the audience as well."
"I recently did ARY's Khudgarz with Yasir, he made me do a negative role which was very well-received. He made me come out of my comfort zone, credit goes to the director and even with Wrong Number 2, he's making me do something different. I've barely done comedy so once again, he pushed me. I really enjoyed working with him. The whole team, from the producers to my co-stars, everyone was wonderful."
He says they've experimented with a "different andaaz of comedy": "It's essentially a love story but the situations are a little odd for love; it's not that the characters have a funny sense of humour but it's the circumstances that make their actions and words funny. It's a nice twist."
Talking about his leading co-actor, he shares, "Neelam is very, very supportive, hard-working and extremely disciplined. She's never late to set and she's cooperative."
The original film followed Danish Taimoor as he connives to and succeeds in swapping lives with a lookalike millionaire in order to escape his father's ultimatum of getting a job and settling down with the neighbour's daughter (Sohai Ali Abro).
Wrong Number 2 will release this Eid-ul-Fitr.
