Bollywood has been bereft of its favourite Khans from Pakistan since political tensions shot up.

But fans of Mahira and Fawad in India got a little taste of their sizzling chemistry on the latest cover of India Today's bridal magazine Brides Today. The shoot took place in Dubai at the Babalshams Hotel.

The duo, decked in the latest 'Bonita' collection of Sadaf Fawad Khan's label SFK Bridals, is all grown up from its Humsafar days and are pulling off an edgy, wild look that we don't see from them every day.

Speaking to Images, designer Sadaf shared, “I wanted the shoot to have an editorial look because Fawad and Mahira have been seen so many times together before. This shoot needed to be memorable rather than look like just more images of the two of them together. The styling is dramatic and bold. People may love it or hate it but at least they won’t forget it.”

She added about the styling, "I didn’t want to make it look like a typical bridal shoot, which is why I insisted that Mahira wore single statement pieces instead of entire sets. If she wore earrings, we skipped out on the neck-piece. I didn’t want to overdo it.”

Fans seem to wholeheartedly approve:

Regarding her decision to rope in Mahira for the shoot, Sadaf said, “I opted for Mahira because I don’t know any other female celebrity in Pakistan who has as much star-power. She brings a lot of personality to the shoot and appeals to the international market. This makes sense because Brides India is an Indian magazine which also has access to markets in the UK and U.A.E. I collaborated with them because I want to build awareness about my brand not just in Pakistan but also internationally.”

“Mahira just listened to the concept for the shoot and agreed. Fawad, of course, doesn’t have a choice! He’s actually very good. He can give a good shot within minutes. I suppose he has gotten a lot of experience over the years, having been featured on quite a lot of magazine covers.”

Mahira and Fawad will next be seen together in Bilal Lashari's Maula Jutt.
