Meeting Bollywood superstars is one thing Zayn and his father have in common; in 2015, Zayn and Shah Rukh Khan met at the Asian Awards in London and took a selfie together. SRK uploaded it on Twitter and set a record - making it the top retweet of all time in terms of messages posted from an Indian Twitter handle.

In a recent interview with Elle India magazine Zayn shared his experience with Bollywood - and they go waaaay back.

"Before I can even remember… [Bollywood films were] on the TV." he said.

"Bollywood is so impeccable. If you ever get a chance to watch a good Bollywood movie, watch Devdas! Have you seen Devdas? It’s got Shah Rukh Khan in it. You know who Shah Rukh Khan is?"

The two looked dapper snapped together.

Ironically, Zayn wasn't always big on SRK, but their chance meet two years ago changed that. "I personally wasn’t a huge fan until I met him. I realised how humble he is. Really showed a different side to him. He always came across as slightly arrogant in the movies to me, but when I met him in real life, he was so nice. He just completely changed my opinion of him."

Lets not start a controversy here. Both DIlip Kumar and SRK are best actors in Bollywood. He is just proud to show that. And they both happen to be Muslims is just a coincidence.

Zayn Malik has not distanced himself from his Pakistani roots. In earlier interviews he has said how Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan has been a huge inspiration in his life. He titled his debut album "Mind of Mine" which he described in an interview is a translation of zehen (mind) of Zayn ( which he referred to as mine). He said zehen and Zayn sounded similar so he translated it into mind of mine. His clothing line has urdu words and writings. He has always called himself a British Pakistani and not just an Asian or South Asian. He owns his Pakistani roots. Many Pakistanis watch and enjoy Bollywood. That has nothing to do with disowning his Pakistani roots. Why are you all so sensitive? What matters the most is how Zayn defines himself. And anyone that knows him knows that he owns his Pakistani roots.
