Ms Marvel's (aka Kamala Khan's) origin story is out, and it's rooted in the partition of the Pak-India subcontinent.

The lastest Marvel comic features a flashback to Bombay of 1947, where Kamala's parents - Ayesha and Kareem - are one of the last families to join the largest human migration in history.

The new Ms Marvel Kamala Khan was touted as the first Muslim character to headline a comic book. The Pakistani-American superhero received a lot of appreciation and Marvel was commended for diversifying their line up of superheroes. Ms. Marvel's first comic even won the Hugo Award for best graphic story in 2015.

Just a moment now... Kamala is like 17, right? So these would almost certainly have to be her grandparents.
