Oops! Hrithik Roshan's noisy birthday party leads to a Rs 25,000 fine

An irked resident called the cops on the Bollywood superstar…twice!
Updated 13 Jan, 2016

As if showing off his flashy Rolls Royce wasn't enough, Hritik Roshan created a real ruckus on his 42nd birthday. His star-studded party created enough noise for the police to be called.

During the rooftop bash celebrated at Worli's Four Seasons Hotel on Saturday-Sunday, loud music and disorderly parking invoked the ire of one nearby resident Ashraf Khan, who called the cops on the Bollywood superstar at 1:30am.

The police slapped a fine of 12,500 on the Four Seasons, but to no avail.

It was only when a second fine of the same amount was imposed, that the party finally wrapped up at 3:30am.

The hotel management, however, remains unapologetic.

When contacted by the press on Wednesday, a hotel spokesperson gave the following steely reply: . “You ask the complainant how the sound reaches the ground from the 34th floor... and the police about the fines.”

This fine would never happen Pakistan. Definitely not if you are a celebrity or a person who is connected.

Wow, that's called law enforcement. India is way ahead from Pakistan in enforcing rule of law despite its aberrations. In Pakistan the Police would not dare to fine any celebrity.

@Jamboree I do not agree with it. Our cricketers are fined for violations. Do not spread false information.

Well the noise may not reach the ground floor but the parking mess was on the ground floor and adjoining area, wasn't it?

Arrogant response by the hotel management. Well done police but I would liked a bigger fine or action for ignoring the first warning. Also they need to handle everyone the same way. In the area where I live, police land up at the door step at 1 minute past the deadline and make us stop the music. If there is a complaint then a heavy fine is also imposed. Last year they confiscated our music system when a religious program exceeded 11PM deadline. Just last week my neighbor had to pay Rs.5000 for not wearing a helmet on a motor bike. Mumbai police is strict with common people, let us hope they are also strict with celebrities.

25k is the kind of money you spend in a decent hotel if you take four friends with you for food and drink. This won't deter Roshan from hosting another noisy party.

There are many high rise buildings in Worli. Maybe Ashraf Khan was living in a high rise and was disturbed. How can the hotel management say that the sound cannot travel?

Exactly. How does sound of a party reaches the ground from 34th floor? Looks like someone was jealous of not being invited.

@Jamboree Why not? Celebrities have horn on their head? No idea about Pakistan but in Afghanistan and many other countries nobody cares if you are a celebrity or just a normal citizen. LAW is LAW.
