‘Lucky are those whose first child is a daughter’: actor Kiran Tabeir has been blessed with a baby girl

Known for her role as Fizza and Shiza, actor Kiran Tabeir just welcomed her baby girl Izzah Hamza Malik into the world and crossed over into the world of motherhood. Congratulations to the newly-made parents!

On Sunday, she shared photos with her firstborn on Instagram captioned, “Lucky are those whose first child is a daughter. And I [have been] blessed with one ALHUMDULILAH after 12 years. Finally, Allah [has] blessed us with His Rehmat. We are parents now. It’s a baby girl, meet Izzah Hamza Malik.” Adding the date of birth, August 13, she asked fans to remember her family in their prayers.

The Parizaad actor has been part of the industry for a very long time but the what pushed her into the spotlight was a clip that went viral from episode Judwaa in an anthology series called Haqeeqat. It tells the story of twin sisters Fizza and Shiza who marry two brothers, Zain and Faraz, without having seen them. Zain and Faraz’s meddling phuppo has a daughter who’s in love with one of the brothers. The phuppo switches the brides’ rooms on their wedding night to sabotage their marriages in order to give her daughter a fighting chance with her flame.

The Fizza-Shiza confusion became fodder for Pakistani meme-makers who blew it out of proprtion. Tabeir took to Instagram in February and addressed social media’s latest fascination. “It’s more important that we talk about the kind of problems that need to be talked about, problems in our country that need to be addressed and should trend on social media as well,” she said. “Please use your time and energy in a better way, maybe that’ll end up helping someone for the better. It’s your decision. Otherwise enjoy this Fizza and Shiza thing.”
