Kareena Kapoor isn’t pregnant, she’s just having pasta, wine and a good time

Indian media has been on high alert ever since Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor announced the news of their pregnancy. The media’s new target is Kareena Kapoor and they were hellbent on the notion that she was pregnant with her third child. But Bebo set the story straight — it’s just “pasta and wine”.

The Kapoor-Khan family is on vacation in Europe and that gave the eagle eyes of the Indian media the chance to scrutinise Instagram photos from their trip, some posted by the Veere Di Wedding star herself while others by family. One that trended online was a family picture shared by Karisma Kapoor featuring Kareena’s ‘pregnancy bump’. Or what the media thought was her pregnancy bump.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Kareena clarified that she is “NOT pregnant” and blamed European food and alcohol for what the media presumed to be a baby bump.

“Saif [Ali Khan] says he has already contributed way too much to the population of our country,” she wrote, suggesting that the media and people “enjoy”.

It seems that all it took for pregnancy rumours to spread was a loose-fitting shirt and a bit of bloating. But then again, it doesn’t matter what it is — pregnancy, marriage, a breakup, divorce or even family drama — everything lands on the radar of the Indian media. We wonder how long it will take for them to realise celebrities are entitled to privacy as much as the next person.

Let Kareena enjoy all the pasta in the world without worrying about her belly pooching out and people wondering whether she’s pregnant.

Kareena is already a mother to two sons, five-year-old Taimur and one-year-old Jeh, and her pasta belly is none of anyone’s business.

Bebo will be soon seen making a comeback as Aamir Khan’s love interest in Laal Singh Chaddha. The film is touted as an official adaptation of Tom Hank’s 1994 classic Forrest Gump and will be releasing on August 11.
