Hania Aamir reveals fans showed up at her door and didn't leave till the police arrived

To be a celebrity and not have an awkward or funny fan encounter is not possible. But actor Hania Aamir’s revelation of one of her fan stories is a bit crazier than usual. The police were even involved but in the end, her mother saved the day.

The cast of Parde Mein Rehne Do appeared in the first episode of Geo's Eid special Hansna Mana Hai on May 3. Shifting the conversation to fan moments, the anchor addressed Aamir and said "fans can get weird too sometimes — [they send] strange messages or violate your privacy. Has something like that happened to you?"

The Ishqiya actor shared, "Some fans showed up outside my house but I wasn't home. They didn't believe it and waited for three to four hours. The police arrived and asked my family to tell them they know them [and threatened to] take them away [if they didn’t]. My mother talked to them and told the police 'No, let them go, they're only kids'."

It seems like showing up at a celebrity's house is more common than we think — singer Uzair Jaswal had also spoken of a similar incident where fans showed up and lied to his parents saying they were friends with him, leaving after having tea with them. It may be brushed off as a light event that may elicit a few laughs but it is actually concerning when people violate someone's privacy, barging in without regard for their boundaries.

Fans may house a lot of love for their favourite celebrities but sometimes they cross a line that shouldn't be crossed and disrespect someone's personal space. Actor Mehwish Hayat experienced a fan violating her boundaries at a meet-and-greet in Houston, Texas when they tried to put their arms around her in March this year. Hayat called out the fan on her Instagram account, saying "some people need to earn manners of meet-and-greet when around women."

We'd like to remind fans that celebrities are also human and have a right to their privacy, which needs to be respected. Their lives may be very open on social media but even then you see how much they allow you to see. It is important to respect their boundaries — there's a fine line between being a fan and being a stalker.
