TV’s biggest talent show is finally coming to Pakistan. Auditions for Pakistan’s Got Talent officially opened on Wednesday, creators Pixel Entertainment announced in an Instagram post.

The company has shared an application form asking performers to provide details of their act along with a video of the act itself and another of the participants introducing themselves.

A number of performance categories are listed in the form for applicants to label their talent with the option to choose more than one option if needed. The given categories include:

  • Singing
  • Vocal Group/Band
  • Comedy
  • Magic
  • Animal Act
  • Juggling
  • Ventriloquism
  • Impressions
  • Aerial Performance
  • Acrobatics
  • Contortion
  • Athletics
  • Calisthenics
  • Beat Boxing
  • Martial Arts
  • Music
  • Dance
  • Stunts

There is also an ‘Other’ option for any applicants whose talents might not fit into these categories. Any acts involving animals will require proof the animals are fully vaccinated and healthy. The responsibility of arranging any required equipment falls upon performers and pyrotechnics and explosives are not allowed.

The company had earlier announced an agreement with global media giant Fremantle to bring the world’s most successful reality show format to the country for the very first time.

The franchise, originally created by Simon Cowell and owned by Fremantle, has aired in more than 70 countries and even holds the Guinness World Record for the most successful reality TV format in history.

Got Talent is one of two reality TV projects in the pipeline at Pixel Entertainment, with the company opening auditions for Rap Icon Pakistan in December. Talha Anjum and Bohemia were confirmed as judges for the upcoming show around the same time. Rap Icon is expected to air around Eidul Fitr.

Prior to these, the company worked on the second season of Masterchef Pakistan, a revival of the cooking competition after an 11-year hiatus. The show concluded with a grand finale on February 9. Earlier, Pixel worked on bringing the popular investment show Shark Tank to Pakistan.

Around the same time as Masterchef, Pakistan Idol is also seeing a revival, albeit by a different production house. The show, which is currently airing online and on a number of TV channels, created some controversy around its choice of judges, music catalogue and production process.

With so many either airing or in the works, reality shows seem to be having their moment in Pakistan and international franchises are leading the charge.
