Netflix announces Enola Holmes 3 will release in 2026
Things seem to be going well at the Enola Holmes Detective Agency as Netflix announced the third film of the popular mystery franchise on Wednesday with details of the cast and even a picture.
The streaming service confirmed Enola Holmes 3 was slated for a 2026 release, four years after the last film. Millie Bobby Brown is set to reprise her role as the film‘s titular character and Louis Partridge will return as the Viscount Tewkesbury who’s very clearly in love with her.
Netflix revealed a first look from the film, a frame showing Tewkesbury down on one knee, presenting Enola with a flower as she looks at him with a shocked expression. We can only speculate as to what‘s going on in the scene, but we think he’s asked her something important.
The film is set on the island of Malta and the streamer said the detective will see her “personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before”.
Other members of the cast include Henry Cavill, who‘ll return as Enola’s older brother and ace detective Sherlock Holmes and Himesh Patel as his sidekick Dr Watson. Helena Bonham Carter will play Eudoria, the Holmes siblings’ mother, and Sharon Duncan-Brewster will play Mira Troy.
The films are based on a series of novels, The Enola Holmes Mysteries, by American author Nancy Springer. This latest instalment is directed by Philip Barantini, whose crime drama Adolescence received wide acclaim this year and the screenplay is written by Jack Thorne, who also wrote the last two films.
