Buckle up everyone who missed the Pakistan versus India Asia Cup match or couldn’t be bothered to watch it. We did and here’s a meme-by-meme recap of what happened.

First of all, why are we spending our Sunday watching a Pakistan versus India match after having our hearts broken so many times before and vowing never to watch another match?

We started off with prayers x1000,000,000.

And BP monitors because we all know we are a country of people with high blood pressure.

But unfortunately, our prayers didn’t work and we lost wickets. Sort of the way India lost jets in May…

From the get-go there were no friendly moments.

People wanted to call in the big guns.

While others made plans for after the match, doing what we do best — trolling. You know what they say, if you can’t beat ’em, troll ’em.

Meanwhile in India.

This was us every time we snuck in a boundary (and narrowly missed being out).

Frankly, this is how everyone was watching the match.

Shaheen Shah Afridi gained more fans after powering us past 100.

There were no fans of the umpire though.

We asked our colleagues for some mid-match reactions and this is what we got:

The second innings was pretty much the same as the first, but some naive fans (read: us), continued watching till the end.

If anyone was wondering how Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were holding up during the match.

The only solution in some fan’s minds — ban cricket. It would definitely be better for our heart health.

Some fans even agreed with the Indian right wingers who called for a boycott of the match.

Others were looking at the bright(ish) side.

Anyway, here are sports we’re actually doing well in.

The real question is whether we’re going to put ourselves through this torture again.

What a bogus performance by Pakistan. The batsmen are bunch of Amateurs, they have always let the country down. The captain must be removed.......now.

Right wingers are not evyen in minority but on the fringe but are vocal. Brothers always fight but, again, unite when attacked.

Ind-Pak cricket matches are singularly responsible for reduced life expectancy in South Asia. This thing takes a couple of years off your life.

WIN OR LOSE -- Not a worthy captain, lacked etiquette, too. Better play against Hong Kong and the like and always win!

It is time to train the young cricketers more if they have to face an efficient team like India.

For now, Pakistan needs to improve the quality of its cricket standards. No one likes one-sided matches. It is not worth their money.

It’s very sad and frustrating that Indian politicians and pundits using their cricket team matches against Pakistan with hatred and BCCI can’t do anything as the entire Modi’s government don’t want good relationships between India and Pakistan. Please do not bring politics in sports and cultural events between two countries India-Pakistan.

It was tough winning against 13 Indian players (including the 2 umpires). The match was fixed to the core. But I enjoyed the fact that the Indians are still sour about the loss against Pakistan Air Force fighter jets. They can keep winning cricket matches. We will continue to win actual wars.

This team is not good enough to play international cricket, they are bunch of faint hearted losers. Where is the talent we use to talk about day in and day out.

So sad to see third rate Indian mentality, everything is war for them. Either play or don’t play, but when you play, I have some decency.

I found the last part about "sports we're actually doing well in" interesting and so I read the whole list that 'Faraz' put up on his X and the entry of Pakistan winning icehockey caught my eye, seeing as we don't have ice nor icehockey nor icehockey as a sport in Pakistan. Can somebody tell mr. Faraz that a team of brown Americans in America is not a win for Pakistan but for America which is where they were born, raised and provided the opportunity and facility. Their south asian ethnicity doesn't matter. But the teen football team from Karachi winning Norway Cup did surprise. Could it be we have real football talent hidden in Pakistan? On global football level?

Team Pak is more upset with not shaking hands with Team India than losing the match. Oh grow up Pakistan, focus on the actual match not the side theatrics!!!

Let us stop playing cricket with India , it is not worth it and concentrate building our team from scratch to avoid embarrassment in future.
