Pakistan’s cricket fans were left ecstatic after the national team pulled off a sensational six-wicket victory against South Africa in the ongoing tri-nation ODI series on Wednesday.

In what turned out to be their highest-ever successful run chase in an ODI, Pakistan chased down a daunting 353-run target at the National Stadium in Karachi, securing a spot in the final against New Zealand.

The record-breaking win was powered by centuries from the captain, Mohammad Rizwan, and vice-captain, Salman Ali Agha, whose remarkable 260-run partnership was the backbone of the chase.

Pakistan’s recent struggles in international cricket had left many fans disillusioned, particularly as the ICC Champions Trophy looms. However, yesterday’s thrilling chase seemed to reignite their faith in the team.

From pros to pros

A long time coming

One minute down, next minute up

Cricket as a binding force

New king in town

Of course, no major cricket victory is complete without an avalanche of memes and jokes.

Meri selection hogayi? (We have been selected?)

And we’re back

Are we sure it’s the same team?

If only they tried often

With the final against New Zealand right around the corner, the mood among Pakistan’s cricket enthusiasts has shifted dramatically. Whether this performance marks the start of a genuine resurgence or remains an isolated triumph remains to be seen.

For now, though, fans are cherishing the moment.

All these years I had constantly criticised the Pakistani batsmen for not being bold like the other Teams of the world and called them bunch of Amateurs. But I have to admit this time they have proven their boldness and impressed the whole country. I wish them all the best for the Trophy.

Minus Babar Azam, current team will be better as Babar needs more time to be able to bring back his lost form in batting.

It is one win which shouldn't let people forget Pakistan's cfricket problem: we don't have enough talent at the moment. Recalling failed and bad cricketers is evidence of that.
