It must be Karan Johar’s lucky day because the one and only Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has offered to work in the Indian director and producer’s movies “free of charge”!

The singer’s “special message” to Johar came after the director posted Khan’s cover of ‘Tauba Tauba’ on his Instagram stories and called it a must-watch, complete with a heart emoji.

Johar is the producer behind Bad Newz, the Vicky Kaushal starrer, which featured Karan Aujla’s viral hit ‘Tauba Tauba’. Being the accomplished singer he is, Khan soon put out his own version of the song titled ‘Toba Toba’. This iteration had slightly different lyrics and a completely different melody.

Aujla himself commented on the video and said, “Uncle na karo please [Uncle please don’t]”. However, being a good sport, Khan liked the comment and did not cease his singing.

In his special message to Johar, Khan sang Happy Birthday to commemorate the producer’s birthday — which was quite strange because Johar’s birthday is actually on May 25. In any case, our superstar is early for next year.

The singer was grateful that Johar appreciated his song and acting. “A producer, singer, actor, model like you. You’re a kingmaker!” Khan exclaimed (Sidenote: we weren’t aware that Johar has ever done any modelling but perhaps Khan is more privy to the inner workings of the entertainment industry than we are).

Khan was so elated at Johar’s comment that he apparently “could not sleep for three nights”. We guess that’s expected when one of the biggest producers in the world gives you a special shoutout.

Needless to say, we are now eagerly awaiting an appearance from Khan in one of Johar’s movies. Perhaps alongside Shahrukh Khan? Or would that be too much star power for the world to handle?
