‘I didn’t know this existed’: Zara Noor Abbas is basking in the joy of being a mother

Actor Zara Noor Abbas shared a deeply personal and touching tribute to her newborn daughter Noore Jahan.

In a carousel of photos posted on her Instagram on Tuesday, Abbas offered her fans a glimpse into the tender moments she shares with her baby. She made sure to still keep her little one’s face covered.

Accompanying the photos, Abbas’ caption reflected on the emotions she feels as a new mother as well as honouring her own journey and body. “Please [bear] with only the Amma in her glory where no photoshop, body editing is done because I respect and appreciate my body for being so miraculous. Alhamdullilah.”

In her tribute, the Badshah Begum actor thanked Noore Jahan for choosing her as her mother and pledged to always be there for her, “InshAllah always and forever.”

“This is for her sick days. When she is not feeling well. And the late nights and early mornings. The moments where I lose sensibility of everything else around me and only SHE matters,” Abbas wrote.

The actor continued to describe the unique and overwhelming nature of her maternal love, noting, “I didn’t know this existed. I thought I only felt this for my amma and abba. And will never feel it again for anyone. But this is something more than that. This is crazier. Beyond all possibilities.”

She also spoke about the strength and resilience that motherhood has instilled in her, attributing her newfound courage to her daughter. “You teach me resilience, perseverance, courage and strength to do it all.”

Abbas’ tribute is not just a celebration of her love for her daughter — it also celebrates the miraculous ability of a woman’s body to bear a child and bring new life into the world.

Women’s bodies are often policed during and especially after pregnancy, with people critiquing how much weight mothers have put on. Abbas previously shared a video highlighting her diet since giving birth and trolls in the comment section began making fun of the way she looked as well as how she prepared her meals. Abbas responded to each and every one of the mean comments, promoting body-positivity and celebrating motherhood.

In one of the best comebacks we’ve seen in a while, when one user mocked, “Look what she has become,” Abbas replied, “I have become a mother.”

I won't use the word "shame", but it definitely isn't Dawn's style. Good for ZNA though

No doubt, mother and motherhood are by far, the most precious, dignified, honorable and respected status in the world.
