The palace is in crisis! The Princess is still missing! Princess Catherine of Wales (aka Kate) that is, and she’s not technically missing but she might as well be in the eyes of the internet.

ICYMI: The Princess’ recent absence from public engagements due to medical reasons fuelled speculation and concern, exacerbated by the lack of information provided by the palace.

Throw into the mix a Mother’s Day picture featuring the Princess with her three children, which stirred controversy and fuelled conspiracies surrounding her absence from the public sphere because it was ‘edited’.

Conspiracy theorists swiftly claimed that the photo used a picture of the Princess from a Vogue editorial and that she wasn’t present for it in person.

Photo editors from prominent publications, such as Al Jazeera and NBC, made detailed videos about the errors in editing, highlighting how the picture could be fake.

In response to the uproar surrounding the photo, the Princess issued a statement expressing regret for any confusion caused by the image. She acknowledged that, like many amateur photographers, she “occasionally experiments with editing,” hinting at potential alterations made to the picture. The statement, shared on the royal couple’s X account, was signed off with a simple “C”.

As of March 18, 2024, Princess Kate remains ‘missing’, with no word from Kensington Palace. However, Princess Diana’s brother has commented on the situation. Earl Spencer told the BBC that he does “worry about what happened to the truth” regarding Kate.

Spencer maintained that the press attention suffered by Diana was “more dangerous” than the scrutiny surrounding the current Princess of Wales.

While Earl Spencer may be important in the UK, American royalty Kim Kardashian — arguably more important, no offence to the British monarchy — has announced that she is on her way to find Kate Middleton.

In an Instagram post, Kardashian posed with a car (so posh we don’t even know the name) and captioned it “on my way to find Kate”.

We know if there’s one person who could get to the bottom of this mystery it’s the lawyer/business mogul/influencer/reality star. She is, after all, one of the most powerful women in the world, and we simply love a show of solidarity — one powerful, influential, rich woman, going to save another power, influential, rich woman.

British television presenter Piers Morgan claimed that Prince William (Kate’s husband, in case you live under a rock) is “trying to cover something up” amid her health concerns.

Morgan alleged he was told some things that he couldn’t confirm were true but if they were, the ongoings within the royal family would be quite concerning.

The matter escalated so much that it landed on the floor of the White House when a reporter asked Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre if the White House “ever digitally alters pictures” of US President Joe Biden. Jean-Pierre maintained that it was not something that the White House did. However, can one ever be completely sure? We don’t think so.

In Kate’s absence, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, made her return to Instagram and announced her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard. Maybe she took this opportunity because she knew she couldn’t be overshadowed by William and Kate at this time. Again, we can never be sure.

All jokes aside, we’re (90 per cent) sure that the Princess of Wales is fine and this is all just an internet conspiracy!
