Hadiqa Kiani’s Vaseela-e-Raah builds 100 houses, maternity clinic, grocery store, school in Balochistan
Actor Hadiqa Kiani took it upon herself last year to help rebuild villages in flood-hit areas of Balochistan and she is in the process of delivering on her promise. The ‘Boohey Barian’ singer said the first phase of her project is complete, which consists of infrastructural reconstruction.
On Wednesday, she shared the developments on Instagram. “As many of you know, I have been in Balochistan for the past few days… By the grace of Allah and by your active support, we have completed the first phase of our project in Balochistan. One hundred houses are complete and now occupied, one maternity clinic is complete, one grocery store is complete and one primary school is complete!” she wrote.
Kiani said Vaseela-e-Raah was a promise and is a mission she intends on seeing through till the end. “Coming back to Balochistan and seeing this progress is a blessing and I am so grateful we could do our part. Vaseela-e-Raah was a mission of mine to complete, a promise I made to my mother and to the people of Balochistan, Inshallah we will continue our efforts!”
In August, the singer-songwriter started her journey and collected donations from Lahore and Karachi. By September, she had already visited the sites and communicated with the people. Kiani shared that she was planning to visit remote regions of Punjab and Sindh and would “adopt” remote villages there as well. She urged all those who are able to adopt a village and help people affected by the floods.
