Hamza Ali Abbasi is returning to our TV screens with drama Jaan-e-Jahaan
Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi is making a comeback on our TV screens very soon with a project called Jaan-e-Jahan.
On Monday, he shared a teaser announcing his return. “Happy to introduce you to the captivating world of our upcoming project Jaan-e-Jahan written by Rida Bilal, directed by Qasim Ali Mureed and starring Hamza Ali Abbasi and many more. Produced by Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz, [it’s] coming soon on a TV screen near you!!” he wrote, adding a special thank you for Saeed.
In the short clip, the lead, director, writer and producers were introduced along with a poetic two-liner that read, “Kisi ayat ki tarha, ay jaan-e-jahan, tujhe aankhon se lagana baaki hai [Like a verse (of the Holy Quran), oh life of the world, I have yet to touch you to my eyes].”
Abbasi is returning to TV after several years — his last drama was Alif which aired in 2019. His latest project, blockbuster film The Legend of Maula Jatt, released last year and maybe he sensed that people could not get enough of his onscreen persona after Noori Natt stunned us all on screen. The Punjabi film went on to become the most successful film within Pakistani cinema and was appreciated worldwide.
In 2019, the Mann Mayal actor had announced that he was quitting acting to devote his life to religion. “I only did Alif because of the message it had about God or else Maula Jatt would’ve been my last project,” he had said.
“I will continue to make things though; dramas and films that will be for my country and my religion. I will try to use this medium to further the kind of message that I think need to be given.”
