Indian actor Urvashi Rautela reacts to accusations of ‘stalking’ Rishabh Pant by comparing herself to Mahsa Amini
Indian model-actor Urvashi Rautela has reacted to accusations that she stalked and followed Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant all the way to Australia a week before the T20 World Cup, likening herself to Mahsa Amini, a young Iranian woman who died in the custody of her country’s morality police.
On Thursday, the actor shared a video of herself and wrote, “First in Iran Mahsa Amini and now in India… it’s happening with me they’re bullying me as a stalker???”
She said no one cares about her or supports her. “A strong woman is one who feels deeply and loves fiercely. Her tears flow as abundantly as her laughter. She is both soft and powerful, is both practical and spiritual. She’s a gift to the world,” she captioned the video of herself sighing and looking out into the distance.
Israeli actor Hofit Golan, Filipino socialite and author Josh Yugen and actor Karan Singh Chhabra also dropped by in the comment section. Chhabra suggested the actor must return to India to continue acting whereas others Golan and Yugen asked if Rautela is okay and said she shouldn’t let anyone bring her down.
Earlier this year, Rautela and Pant made headlines after the actor implied they were dating. Soon after, the cricketer requested that she leave him alone. Their online exchange went on for a month after he shared “It’s funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them” on his Instagram stories.
In response Rautela had said, “Chotu bhaiya should play bat ball. I won’t be shamed because of a kid like you.” She used hashtags such as #RPChotuBhaiyya, #DontTakeAdvantageOfASilentGirl and #CougarHunter.
Prior to their online exchange, Rautela in an interview had said that “RP” waited for her in a hotel lobby and called her several times but she was asleep by that time. After that, netizens concluded that RP was Pant, the cricketer because of the name she used in the interview. The two were also seen together on several occasions in 2018, reported India TV.
