Actor Ayesha Omar is exploring other talents and what would be better than covering a song that’s close to your heart? She released a cover of a track that is often associated with her, ‘Tere Ishq Mein’, and netizens are in awe of her voice.

On Saturday, the song dropped accompanied by a music video and she talked about how special it is for her. “Libra Jam begins today and to celebrate the first day of this magical cycle, I bring to you something that is very, very close to my heart. What started out as an impromptu jam at the Commune Artist Colony with YBQ Design Studios and the supremely talented JamBro’z Official became a beautiful bonding experience for us and we decided to record it casually in Saad Hayat ’s studio just because we love the song so much,” she wrote.

The Bulbulay actor explained why the song means so much to her — not only has she grown up listening to it, people around her also started connecting her all-time favourite song to her. “I used to sing this everywhere and with everyone, and later started singing it in interviews randomly when I used to be asked to hum a tune. My friends would request me to sing it when we would randomly do singalongs and it still remains my favourite track to listen to in the car,” she continued.

She clarified that she has changed nothing in the original because no one can ever perform it better than the original singers, Muhammad Ali Sheiky and Allan Fakeer, and later Bayaan. “This is just a humble tribute to the song itself, to all the singers who have sung it over the years, to the composer and lyricist, and above ALL: our Creator,” she added. “For me this is food for my soul because I am always trying to feed good things to myself.”

Dedicating the song to actor Mahira Khan and singer Asfar Hussain, she shared the song, giving a special shout-out to musician Lenny Massey who pushed her to start singing again. “We be doing BIG things together, InshaAllah,” she concluded.

Netizens dropped down to shower her with love in the comment section. Among them were actor Areeba Habib, RJ Dino Ali, actor and singer Hussain.

Netizens are happy Omar is re-introducing this “gem” of a song to the new generation. They love her voice and want to hear more of it.

She is okay not fantastic. She chose a low octave since the song can only be sung otherwise by professionals who reach high octaves, something she apparently is not capable of. All the ones not well versed with this technicality will be full of praise for her as we can see.

Sounds like an ad of Ultimate Vocal Synthesizer Ram Gopal kay " Sholay" Please do not do remakes of Classics- only Atif Aslam has survived on Auto tuners and has the audacity to do remakes of Classics like Lata Mangeshkar

This is great to listen old songs in new version but it does not mean that one should use auto tuner to adjust the voice, that sounds very bad. Original voice bring glory to the sole of this amazing song.
