The much-anticipated Asia Cup match between Pakistan and India may have resulted in a loss for the Men in Green but a silver lining was that the country discovered a diamond in the rough. Naseem Shah bowled his way into everyone’s hearts as he played with all his might, despite falling to the ground in pain. The young bowler’s fandom has increased tenfold and we’re here for it.

Chasing 148 proved to be a topsy turvy affair, with the Men in Blue rocked in the very first over bowled by debutant Naseem Shah, who got rid of KL Rahul and brought back memories of last year’s T20i World Cup clash when Shaheen Shah Afridi had done the same. Saying that Afridi’s spirit had overtaken Shah, Twitter users poured in their admiration for the latter.

Even singer Asim Azhar couldn’t help but see the resemblance.

The outcome may have been disappointing but the performance has cricket lovers bursting with pride.

There was unanimous applause for Shah who carried on despite pain from cramps that took him down.

He had everyone back home cheering.

Even Indian netizens couldn’t help but appreciate his performance.

His potentially teary walk-off moment had everyone emotional.

It be like that.

The player has gained fans.

As well as simps.

Well done Men in Green, especially you, Naseem Shah!

I think we were bit unlucky yesterday but the team gave a good fight. I hope the bowlers get themselves fit for the upcoming matches.

Is not so good fitness of Pakistani fast bowlers the real reason behind the cramps?? Remember, Indian pacers bowled and fielded while still in a bit of Sun
