‘Sadiq and ameen’ Fakhar Zaman is the talk of the Pak vs India match

The cricketer walked off the field during the Pak vs India Asia Cup match without appeal, declaring himself out for 10.
28 Aug, 2022

A Pakistan versus India cricket match is always eventful for fans as well as the team. During the Asia Cup match against India, Pakistani fans were half wowed and half annoyed over Fakhar Zaman and his sportsmanship.

Pakistan posted a target of 148 runs for India to chase in their much-anticipated Asia Cup 2022 clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Zaman walking off the pitch without an appeal when he apparently nicked one back to Dinesh Karthik. He walked off the field long before the Indian bowlers had even appealed. His ‘honesty’ has earned him a top spot on Twitter where people aren’t quite sure what to make of it.

Former Pakistan women’s team skipper Sana Mir took to Twitter to appreciate him. She asked who would do this in such a high profile game.

She wasn’t alone in praising his sportsmanship.

Bigg Boss star and actor Aly Goni also praised the cricketer.

People had jokes.

Do you think he was a teacher’s pet?

People were indecisive.

People want to elevate the ‘sadiq and ameen’ cricketer to the prime minister’s officer for a short stint.

What are your thoughts on his sportsmanship? We may be more generous if we win the match…

Bowler did appeal and India would have taken review. Wicketkeeper did not appeal as Fakhar was clearly caught out!

Dumb decision by Fakhar it was probably just a whish of the wind, the bowler nor the keeper appealed nor the umpire raised his finger India probably may not have even gone for a review, if they had and the decision had been out he could then walk out

It is Umpires' job to judge you out. Unless they give you out, you are not out regardless of whatever happened. Your job is to play. Let them do their job and you do yours.

In the ODI World Cup 2019 - Virat Kohli playing against Pakistan walked off the field even before Pakistani appealed or was given out. Replays showed he was not out. Neither the umpires had the wit to use the 3rd umpire, nor did Pakistani side had the honesty to recall Kohli.

The situation demanded him to appeal. He showed no sense in walking off the field should have stood the ground and taken the umpire's decision. He was not losing anything here but lost his wicket for lack of sharp presence of mind. That's what our cricketers need most.

Pathetic display of batting by Pakistani batsmen except Rizwan and tailenders. Rest got out in similar fashion. They are missing the international coach on the helm as Saqlain and Yousef are not an experience coach. Mickey Arther was doing a great job but seems like merit has gone down the drain as the same old middle order players have been given chances over and over. Fakhar dropped catch was the nail in the coffin showing lack of practice and coaching.

He was Out and was expected to leave. He knew he was out. Even TV referee showed he was Out. So where is the question of his being Sadiq and Ameen. Had he continued playing, that would have been cheating. Today players are playing in front of cameras.

Fakhar Zaman was clearly out so standing there would have been embarrassing if he had to leave after the umpire sent him out. He was not going review obviously so he had no option but to walk. Why such a big deal on him walking out. Any sensible player would do that.
