Kangana Ranaut appreciates Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal for 'breaking sexist norms'
Looks like Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut has caught "VicKat wedding" fever just like the rest of desi social media. She recently posted on her Instagram Stories and commented on the reported couple's relationship, praising both Kaif and Kaushal for breaking "sexist norms".
Kaif and Kaushal are currently enjoying their wedding festivities in Jaipur, India. Their super hush hush 'wedding' is a major topic on the internet these days and Ranaut couldn't help but say something about the reported it-couple as well.
According to Indian publication The Indian Express, the Queen actor shared how it is nice to see Kaif and Kaushal "break gender stereotypes". "Growing up, we heard many stories of successful rich men marrying much younger women," she said. "For women to be more successful than their husband was seen as a major crisis. Forget marrying a younger man after a certain age, marriage [to younger men] was impossible for women."
"Nice to see rich and successful women [and] leading ladies of Indian film industry breaking the sexist norms. Kudos to men and women redefining gender stereotypes," she added.
Glad to see Ranaut say something complimentary and pleasant about someone for a change. In November, the actor was the subject of a police complaint for posting 'derogatory remarks' against Sikhs in an Instagram Story. She's also known for a very public spat with Indian actor Hrithik Roshan which arose after he refuted her claim of them dating back in 2009. Ranaut did not have nice things to say about Roshan on more than one occasion after that.
Kaif and Kaushal reportedly opted to be legally wed in court ahead of the wedding festivities. They kicked off their grand wedding celebrations with a sangeet on December 7, followed by a mehndi on December 8 and then nuptials today (December 9). There will also be a reception on December 10.
