Actor Areeba Habib's newest drama Nehar will be tackling the menace of dowries. The drama will air on Hum TV.

Habib was last seen in dramas Janbaaz and Jalan.

In the upcoming drama, she will play the character Komal. She recently gave us a glimpse of Komal on Instagram.

Nehar is being directed by Ali Hassan and produced by Momina Duraid's MD Productions. The cast includes actors Saboor Aly, Osama Tahir and comedian turned actor Syed Shafaat Ali.

In a comment to Images, Habib highlighted how the storyline tackles the issue of jahez or dowry. "This drama focuses on our national issue of jahez and the rivalry it creates. It is a major topic in the drama. It's not about any sister rivalries; it's about the pressure parents feel from the boy's family when they are trying to marry their daughters off," she explained.

"Saboor Aly is playing my sister in the drama," Habib disclosed. "There's also Osama Tahir and Syed Shafaat Ali. The drama is being directed by Ali Hassan. I'm sure viewers will love the drama because of its different story. Drama's don't usually address the issue of jahez."

What about a Drama on demanding Diamond Ring, Separate Home and well settle before gating married. We only show one side not the other side.

Pointless. Make dramas about unrealistic mahr demands before constantly whining about jahaiz. I have no sympathy for those complaining about the latter while remaining silent on the former.
