Kristen Stewart dazzles as Princess Diana in the newly released trailer for film Spencer
The trailer for the film Spencer has been released, giving viewers a chance to see Kristen Stewart play the late Princess Diana.
The film depicts Diana's last Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham in 1991, before she decided to divorce Prince Charles. According to The Guardian, it’s directed by Chilean director Pablo Larraín and will also star Poldark villain Jack Farthing as Charles.
The trailer has been released just days before the film's premiere at the Venice film festival. Previously, Stewart had revealed how excited she was to play Diana in Spencer and also how difficult it was to replicate Diana's accent.
“The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it's so, so distinct and particular. I'm working on it now and already have my dialect coach," she had said.
Fans have already started predicting an Oscar nomination and win for Stewart after seeing the trailer. "I just saw the teaser trailer for Spencer & a 5 minute clip from the film. Based on the footage, it looks like Kristen Stewart will be getting an Oscar nomination for her performance as Diana. I’m feeling very confident that this is going to be Kristen Stewart’s big moment," an excited user posted on Twitter.
Others were wooed by Stewart's perfect rendition of Diana's accent. Looks like those dialect coaching classes paid off after all.
The film will premiere in competition in September and will open in cinemas in November.
