Production for Spencer, a film on Princess Diana's last Christmas with the royal family at Sandringham in 1991 before she decided to divorce Prince Charles, is almost complete and fans can't wait to see the final product. To tide us over in the meantime is a picture of Kristen Stewart, who is playing Diana in the film.

The latest promotional shot released for the film shows Stewart donning a replica of Diana's sapphire engagement ring given to her by Charles. This is the same ring Kate Middleton now wears.

“December 1991: The Prince and Princess of Wales’ marriage has long since grown cold. Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game. This year, things will be a whole lot different," the film's synopsis reads. It has been directed by Pablo Larraín.

In an earlier conversation with Instyle, Stewart had opened up about her excitement to play the role, including how difficult she finds replicating the exact accent.

“The accent is intimidating as all hell because people know that voice, and it's so, so distinct and particular. I'm working on it now and already have my dialect coach," she had said.

"In terms of research, I've gotten through two and a half biographies, and I'm finishing all the material before I actually go make the movie. It's one of the saddest stories to exist ever, and I don't want to just play Diana—I want to know her implicitly. I haven't been this excited about playing a part, by the way, in so long,” the Twilight star added.

The film is expected to be released this fall. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of Diana’s death.

It also comes at a time when interest in the royal family is at an all-time high following television series The Crown which introduces Princess Diana in the fourth season, as well as the explosive Oprah interview by Prince Harry and Meghan which stirred controversy about the royal family.
